Saturday 21st January saw the second of two collections of warm clothes for Ukraine. Thanks to our able volunteers, everything was checked and sorted and we took a total of eight full car loads of clothes to the consolidation point for onward delivery to Poland before transfer into different vehicles to be taken into Ukraine.
There were some very touching stories. A number of people had bought items from a charity shop in order to donate, thereby benefiting two charities in one go. One man, well into his sixties or seventies gave an Arran sweater that had been knitted by his mother for him when he was 18, and another gave his deceased mother’s fur coat saying she would have appreciated that it was going for a good cause.
We and Lifeline Express are very grateful for all the generous donations. Thank you.
