Hall Hire
This web page will guide you through the hiring process for a single event booking. If you are considering a series of weekly or monthly bookings, we offer reductions on our standard charges and will aim to find good arrangements for you. Please do not hesitate to contact our Bookings Secretary with any questions or to discuss your requirements.
1. Check availability for the time you need
Please consider how long you will need. The hall is available every day of the week between 8.00 and 23.00. We charge for setting up and clearing up at a reduced rate and can advise on typical time allowances required. We expect the hall to be left clean and tidy and so you must allow adequate time. To check availability, please use our online calendar.
2. Will the hall suit your needs, and do you need to use a projector, piano or other equipment?
Details of the hall, its dimensions and facilities can be found here If you would like to see the hall, the best way is to come to one of the Society’s Coffee Mornings, any Saturday between 10.30 and 12.00. You will be most welcome to have a chat, and look around. Alternatively, please contact our Bookings Secretary to arrange another time. You may also need information on location and travel
Information about the Audio-Visual equipment is available here. Equipment cannot be guaranteed to be available so please tell us what equipment you need as soon as possible. Hirers wishing to use the AV equipment may be required to use our volunteer technician. There is an additional charge for using AV equipment. Our piano is available for use only by prior agreement.
3. Hire charges and Terms and Conditions
Details of hire charges can be found here. Members are entitled to a discount and if you’re not a member, please consider joining. Reductions are also available for some local charities and community groups. When hiring you must agree to our Hall Hire Terms and Conditions.
4. When you have decided to go ahead
When you find suitable availability, please contact us to confirm arrangements by email with our Bookings Secretary. After you’ve received our email confirmation, please download our “Hall Hire Request for a Single Event Hire” and complete it according to the details discussed by email.
5. Making payment
When we receive your Hall Hire Request, our Bookings Secretary will reply to confirm your booking, including the amount due. Please do not make any payment until your Hall Hire Booking Request has been checked and confirmed to you.
Payment should then be made promptly. A booking is not finally agreed until payment has been received. Payment should be made by BACS to the account shown in this link.
