Tulip Siddiq visited Highgate Society’s Volunteer Fair where the Highgate Society and local organisations encouraged visitors to get involved.
It was a busy morning on Sunday 24 March in Highgate – there was the local churches’ Palm Sunday procession through Pond Square (including its very own donkey), the dog show in Waterlow Park and, not to be outdone, the Highgate Society was hosting its second Volunteer Fair at 10A.
The idea behind this is to create an event where people considering the idea of volunteering can meet and chat to local organisations about how they can get involved – on an ad hoc or a regular basis. The Highgate Society was delighted to welcome Tulip Siddiq, MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, who dropped in to meet several of the exhibitors.
Throughout the morning there was a steady stream of visitors all keen to chat to representatives from the following organisations: The Highgate Society, the Fair in the Square, the Highgate Neighbourhood Forum, the Harington Scheme, Growing Green, Muswell Hill Sustainability Group and en10ery, Hornsey Historical Society, Friends of Highgate Cemetery and Better Archway Forum. If you missed the Fair but think you may be interested in volunteering, please contact us.
