Highgate School planning applications – public meeting
Thursday June 8th 2023
7.00 pm (Doors open 6.45 pm)
Attend in person:
St Michael’s School, North Road N6 4BG
The recent planning applications have aroused considerable interest and concern among our members and the wider Highgate community with many residents only now becoming aware of their extent and implications. When taken as a whole, they will make a substantial difference to Highgate especially during the next 10 year construction period.
The Society has as its purpose “Making Highgate a Better Place to Live and Work” and with this in mind we have organised a public meeting, which will be chaired by Catherine West MP to facilitate further consultations and a better understanding between the Highgate community and the School. We are friends of the School but in this case critical friends, and feel that their involvement with us their neighbours on these proposals has been inadequate.
The purpose will be for the School to explain their proposals and listen to feedback.
Please attend the public meeting in person if you can. There will be roving mics and the meeting is for members and residents to have their say. If you’re unable to come in person, you can join the live stream of the event on Zoom (click here for details).
Questions or comments to the School can be emailed in advance to chair@highgatesociety.com. Your questions will be asked on your behalf during the meeting, time permitting. There will be no opportunity for those attending the live stream to ask questions or make comments during the meeting itself.
Please note that the meeting and questions are not a substitute for making comments and objections to Haringey who will be making the planning decisions in due course – see our guide for how to make comments here. Do both – send us a question and also make a comment to Haringey! If you wish to remain anonymous please tell us.
