Highgate Society objects to Murphy’s Yard proposals

As members of the Hampstead Heath Consultative Committee, the Highgate Society supports the aims of the Heath and Hampstead Society and the City of London to preserve Hampstead Heath and, equally important, to ensure that development near the Heath must not harm its openness, or views from and to it. The Society believes that the massing and height of the six tower blocks proposed at Murphy’s Yard, of between 11 to 19 storeys, will have an overwhelming adverse impact on the openness of the Heath. ‘No right turn’ rules on Swains Lane: Update

Following representations by the Highgate Society, Pond Square residents and others, Camden Council has announced that the ‘No right turn’ restriction at the South Grove junction of Swains Lane will be withdrawn. The restriction at Bisham Gardens will be made permanent.

Proposed change of use of Pain Quotidien

The Highgate Society will be submitting a full and detailed response objecting to the application for a change of use from cafe to pub of the former Pain Quotidien at 86 Highgate High Street.
