Parliamentary constituency boundary changes
The Boundary Commission has been continuing its work to redraw parliamentary boundaries and made some quite substantial changes to the previous proposals following consultations. There is now an opportunity to respond further on the proposals with a deadline of 5th December for doing so.
The latest proposals recreate a Hampstead & Highgate constituency which was abolished in 2010 when the Highgate portion was joined with Holborn & St Pancras. The new proposed Hampstead & Highgate constituency is larger than the previous pre 2010 version and now unites the two Highgate wards – the Camden Highgate ward and the Haringey Highgate ward. We welcome this aspect of the changes, as it recognises Highgate as a coherent and integrated community. Further comments are invited by the Boundary Commission with a deadline of 5th December. https://boundarycommissionforengland.independent.gov.uk/2023-review/london/
