Highgate Library Consultation – Have Your Say!
Haringey Council is proposing substantial cuts to its library service opening hours. For Highgate Library on Shepherds Hill, this could mean a reduction in opening hours by up to 53%. These cuts are part of broader reductions to Haringey’s Library Services.
Despite significant opposition, Haringey Council approved these cuts in March 2024. The cuts disproportionately affect branch libraries, and, with the options presented, Highgate Library faces a significant reduction in service: effectively a 49% cut (option 1) or a 53% cut (option 2).
We urge you to take part in the consultation and express your views on these drastic reductions. You can complete the questionnaire online by registering at haringeylibraries.commonplace.is or pick up a copy at Highgate Library. When responding, consider expressing your objection to the cuts rather than merely selecting one of the options presented.
Libraries play a crucial role in our community, and these reductions threaten their ability to continue serving residents effectively.
