The next concert in Highgate Society’s popular concert series will feature Trio Trillium, a string trio consisting of top students from the Royal Academy of Music. The players have been specially selected by the Academy’s Head Professor of Strings for their skill and promise. They have all won awards and performed both here and abroad. The Trio’s programme will include Beethoven’s String Trio Op 9 in C minor which displays all that composer’s taut power. Also included, will be Dohnanyi’s Serenade op 10 composed 100 years later and now considered one of the masterpieces of string trio writing.
The concert will take place in a very special drawing room in the heart of Highgate Village.
The aim of Music in Highgate Homes concerts, which were started by Sara Kaye 40 years ago, is to provide opportunities for young musicians on the threshold of their careers to perform before an audience in a chamber music setting – and be paid accordingly.
Applications by cash or cheque, payable to the Highgate Society, should be sent with a self-addressed envelope and contact details to the Society at 10A South Grove, London N6 6BS. Tickets may also be bought in person with credit card/cash at the Society’s Saturday coffee mornings. The concert venue will be printed on the tickets.
