Music in Highgate Homes: Aki Blendis (violin)

At the age of only 14, Aki Blendis, a Highgate resident and Highgate School pupil, was a special award winner in the semi-finals of last year’s Young Musician of the Year competition. Outside school hours he studies violin with Ivo Stankov at the Junior Guildhall.

At our concert Aki will be accompanied on a Steinway piano by his mother Saoko Blendis who is a professional pianist.  Aki’s father, Simon Blendis the well-known violinist, will also be playing.

The recital will be in an historic house in the heart of Highgate Village, the venue to be announced on the ticket.   Tickets are now available at £30 each, including wine and canapés in the interval.   Apply by sending a cheque or cash with sae to the Society at 10A South Grove, London N6 6BS.  Please note that the recital room can only accommodate a small audience, and is up a steep flight of stairs.
