The HLSI archive is an outstanding mine of information about Highgate in its Edwardian hey-day when the Northern Heights was a by-word for luxury, leisure and innovation.
Conscious as the Highgate Society is of our built heritage, it is easy to overlook how Highgate acted as a crucible for new ways of using wealth productively as well in the way in which it was displayed.
Using material from the archive Richard Webber explores the parallels that can be drawn between the Edwardian super rich and today’s elite.
