The Highgate Festival is an exciting new initiative for 2018 bringing the whole community together for a week of culture, music, theatre and art. The Highgate Society is proud to open the doors of 10A South Grove over the weekend 6 to 9 July and take part in this exciting new Festival. Friday evening is the Summer Social 6.30 to 8pm pay £5 on the door for a celebratory drink. Saturday morning coffee is served 10.30 to 12.30 and members and guests mingle and chat. Everyone welcome. The afternoons of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 from 2 to 4pm there is a chance to catch the Highgate Conservation Area exhibition with illustrations of houses saved and at risk, alongside watercolour group paintings. Come and talk about what it means to live in a conservation area. Sunday evening and Monday evening at 7pm there is an opportunity to hear two great talks about Highgate. On Sunday Richard Webber illustrates the Lifestyles of the super-rich in Edwardian Highgate, Then and Now about the Great Houses from past Highgate. On Monday David Porter will talk and show photos from the Modern Homes Exhibition about the modern buildings in and around Highgate. Although these talks are free, booking is essential.
